Chance Vought Corsair

Call for details
This Pacific Theatre veteran was recovered from its WW-II resting place and restored to a high level of static display presentation.

First flown in December 1942, the Corsair enjoyed a remarkably long production period, the last example completed in 1953. In US service it carried on through the Korean War, finally being retired in 1953, but remaining in use is some South and Central American countries, the last military user being Honduras until 1979.

It is interesting to consider that of the nearly 12,600 Corsairs built between the Vought, Goodyear and Brewster factories, a mere 82 are known to survive including those flying, those undergoing restoration for display only, and those being prepared to return to flying condition.

This early 'Birdcage' Corsair is the oldest intact survivor of the type and represents a unique opportunity for a museum wanting a landmark aircraft for their display.
